Summit County includes the beautiful mountain towns of Silverthorne, Dillon, Montezuma, Frisco, Breckenridge, and Blue River - and the rural areas in between.

1. Hit the Slopes in Keystone.
Keystone is one of the small communities in the Summit County area, and it's widely known as an awesome place to go for skiers, snowboarders, Nordic skiers...really just about anyone who loves winter outdoor activities.
The area is loaded with lakes, hills, mountains, and trails, so even if you areinclined more towards ice skating and hiking, there's more to do than just race down hills. In addition to Keystone, Summit County also boasts the ski resorts of Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain.
2. Summer activities in Breckenridge.
Breckenridge is a particularly great place to spend a summer vacation. While it does house a very popular ski resort in the wintertime, the summer still has something to offer with its gorgeous wildflowers as well as the Blue River. Breckenridge also plays host to the Breckenridge Festival of Films, if you're a cinema buff.
3. Sightseeing the Landmarks.
Every town in Summit County has plenty of history, and the locals will be glad to share it with you.
4. Learn about the History of Gold Mining.
You'll be amazed at the gold mining history that you can see right from the area hiking and biking paths, including old dredge boats and tailings piles. There are a few different gold mining tours you can take in, as well.
5. Hit up the Bicycle Routes.
Summit County is a mountain biker's dream, with miles and miles of rugged mountain trails, as well as paved bike paths that are perfect for those who want to take a more leisurely approach.
